The Pentacle of Happiness — a free tool for self-knowledge

The Pentacle of Happiness — a free tool for self-knowledge

I have made an important update to my free game The Pentacle of Happiness — one whose importance I felt myself. When you play for a long time, and always signed in with Google, the overall profile statistics help you understand yourself better. You realise what your life has too much of, and what is in chronic deficit.

That happens even if you min-max the game hard. Because in every run you still make a pile of subconscious choices that your head does not track in the moment — but they accumulate and end up in the stats. And after at least a dozen runs, you see patterns emerge from hundreds of choices, and the real picture of your life shows through.

Over the long run, the game becomes a real tool for filling in the wheel of life balance, rather than a self-deceiving questionnaire like everything else available for free on this topic online. In The Pentacle of Happiness you cannot fool yourself that easily, because formally nobody asks you anything, and you answer nothing.

The gist of today’s change is simple: you can now share your entire profile as a single picture. If you work with a therapist or a coach, such a picture can be a good basis for a useful conversation. I would not post these pictures on social networks, but privately it is a very good addition. I am writing this not as the game’s author, but as a player — and first of all about myself.

A reminder: the feature is available only to those who play with a Google account, and that is NOT REQUIRED. Want anonymity? The game is just as fun and meditative for anonymous players. And if you play with Google and want to delete your data, that is available in your account page too (details in the FAQ). I believe users should always have full control over their data.

I wish you all the best — kindness and peace to everyone!
